HOTEL DIARY: THE SAGUARO PALM SPRINGS

I don’t need to be asked twice to visit Palm Springs! From LA, it is the PERFECT weekend getaway, and I jump at the opportunity to go as often as I can. So when Kailey’s birthday rolled around last October, it was a no brainer to do a sister’s weekend there. We decided we wanted equal parts party and relaxation. Enter: The Saguaro.

Another big reason we chose The Saguaro was because I found a Groupon, randomly, for the weekend we were looking into. Early October is almost perfect weather in the desert. Its not overwhelmingly hot, and the nights aren’t super cold yet either. I was lucky to find such a steal during busy season.

THE VIBE:

You can see the Saguaro from a mile away! JK, Not really, but it’s definitely hard to miss with its rainbow colors and large orange sign. It gives off good, fun vibes right away.

The whole property is fun and colorful! Upon entering the lobby you’ll see cruiser bikes as well as ping pong and other games set up. The hotel is essentially a large square. If you are on the outside you have desert views and on if you are placed on the inside, pool views!

Walking around the property is like one big lounge area. The greenery surrounding the pool had hammocks, bags (aka cornhole), fire pits, and other games! It truly is a great hang out vibe.

THE POOL:

IS A PARTY.

We showed up to the pool around 3pm after eating and checking in and boy was it popping! We walked around and didn’t locate any empty lounge chairs. Luckily as we were circling back a pool attendant noticed and helped us find some. I guess they have a policy that chairs unattended for 30 mins are given up! I can see how this might be unnerving if you are looking to leave something and go into the pool, but it sounds like they have a good system. The pool attendant also offered to grab us towels from the front desk, turns out you have to request them there. Overall we were happy with the hospitality here, and the pool scene was a great first experience to that. We stayed until the sun started to go down and it go a little chillier.

The next morning we got to the pool around 9:30 and it was practically empty! We ordered avocado toast to our lounge chairs along with a mimosa for me and a bloody for Kailey and had ourselves a morning!

EL JEFE REstaurant:

After our 2 hour drive from LA we were famished! Just in time for some cocktails and lunch.
The restaurant on site is called El Jefe and it sports elevated margaritas and Mexican fare.

We each enjoyed a margarita and then shared a quesadilla, loaded nachos and a random wedge salad.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This hotel one hundred percent delivered on what we were looking for out of this particular weekend. I will definitely be back with a group of girlfriends or pals looking to party. Our room was nothing to write home about. It had the same color blocking vibe through out the rest of the property, but the decor had a latin flare. The room was clean but you can tell its seen its share of bachelorette parties. no worries :) We had a little patio that faced the mountains and we enjoyed that as well.

Overall every hotel employee we encountered was so hospitable, that alone made up for anything lacking in the room. I love PS!

Have you visited the Saguaro PS?? Let me know how it was in the comments !
